Niyama was created and born in California by founder Harald Wester and is now based in Germany. With more than 20 years of experience in the textile and printing business, Mr. Wester brings all the necessary know-how to the table, to offer the perfect combination between fabric, print and high wearing comfort.
After finding his passion for yoga and yoga-fitness in California. Practicing and teaching for many years, his own wish for certain yoga garments was the seed to create a different line of active wear. Professional, durable, innovative and of the highest quality fabric from Italy. Niyama is currently manufactured in both Germany and Hungary.
Niyama is an eco-friendly sportswear line with the main focus on being fitness and gym wear but, also wants to take this style statement from the gym or yoga room to the streets and beyond. Niyama - means laws or rules, the five living principles that (along with the yamas) make up the ethical and moral foundation of yoga; they include Sauca (purity), Santosha (contentment), Tapas (burning enthusiasm), Svadhyaya (self-study) and Ishvarapranidhana (celebration of the spiritual).
The practice of Niyama helps us maintain a positive environment and gives us the self-discipline and inner-strength necessary to progress along the path of life.
